I'm going to be in Atlanta all next week was wondering if there were any open jams I might could sit in on.
Thanks,

I'm getting the hang of clawhammer pretty good, except dropped thumb, but that'll come, my problem is my forearm always feeling strain, fatigue etc, whether I use index or middle finger. Maybe just getting those muscles worked in, but I do play tennis, also some guitar and mandolin, but my forearm always feels a strain even after one song ?
Hey folks,
I like to take old time tunes and use a Gadsby's Hymns to swap out the lyrics. How do I find a meter to a song when google fails? Right now I'm working on Poor Ellen Smith ( http://2ftlbanjer.files.wordpress.com/2010/04/gdgae-poor-ellen-smith.pdf )
Thank you and Happy Canada Day.

SPC Ember Marie Alt, US Army. She was buried today, her 22nd birthday in Killeen, TX. Killed last week in a rocket attack in Afghanistan. Local track star and loved by the whole community. Three others also had their lives taken from them in the attack. Let's not forget about our troops in harm's way as we are able to celebrate our country's freedom next week. Jack, PGR.

My last topic brought up a subject that has hindered me my entire adult life. Yes, I have performance anxiety when using a urinal when someone is standing next to me. You may think it's not a big deal but it really is. Being in the Army I never had an issue showering around other people, or being shy, but for some reason I tend to freeze up at the urinal. From searching the web I have discovered that I am not alone. Every month in the Army we would have surprise urinalysis test at 0400 for drug use, which I truly despised, and I still have them now at work. I even went as far as thinking about hypnosis to help me with this issue. Sometimes I find myself using a stall if it's available. If not, and if I cannot go I try again later hoping nobody else is right there. I have avoided many social gatherings such as sporting events due to this problem. If you've had this issue please let me know how you overcame; just PM me if necessary.
I enjoy shooting my .22's (Henry Golden Boy .22LR, Winchester 74 .22LR, and a Heritage Arms Rough Rider .22LR/Mag), but I hate using up the shells.
Anyone else noticing .22 ammo disappearing? Heard that the government was stock-piling them, supposedly.
"Nashville Airplane"???
I had to look at this twice to see if it was "the" Flatt & Scruggs because the album cover was so funny and the songs weren't bluegrass songs.
I especially liked "Folsom Prison"...Normally Johnny Cash would say "Hi, I'm Johnny Cash" but this time it was "Hi, I'm Lester Flatt..and I'm Earl Scruggs". Yeah, Folsom Prison can be played on the banjer! And it sounds pretty good!
Also had Glen Campbell's "Gentle on My Mind".
Somehow Earl just doesn't sound right singing these and some of the hippie songs!
I love this movie. Comedic genius at its best. But in light of the Paula Deen brouhaha, i'm curious how many folks think that movie wouldn't be picked up by a major production studio if presented to executives today?
I have just picked up a Terry Meade C scale banjo with a wooden soundboard. I am flying home with it tomorrow to Vermont from Southern California where it was made. I found it at McCabes in Santa Monica and having picked it up could not stop playing it. So I dickered a bit and bought it. When I get home I shall be tweaking it and changing some of the set up so as to experiment. Any suggestions from folk who know these?
Seems most of the ones I see have a plastic piece centered on the handle, with the metal showing at the handle ends. I, and most folks I know, grab the handles on the ends--where the plastic isn't. Since the plastic is presumably there as a hand grip, why put it where people don't naturally place their hands? Design idiocy? Or ??
