Do you realize the implications of a [FF] Food Forum? For sure, we would have to have a Moderator. Dark days might ensue.
Digestively incorrect recipes for esophagus, eyeballs, testes, ovaries and Bird's Nest Soup might get you locked. Long-time major contributors might leave the BHO in a huff because your weekly meal plans are nutritionally incomplete or you were not willing to post the nutritional values of your recipes. Maybe the forum might contain traces of nuts? The Velveeta & Miracle Whip words could never be mentioned.
If it ain't busted, let's not try to fix it until it is.
This is something you either really like or you grew up with. Tropical sort of recipe where even paper money and leather shoes rot.
Fine dice an onion in twice as much oil as you think you might need
When that sweats down, add 1-2 tbsp curry powder and stir that around to fry.
Add maybe 1 tbsp plain flour, stir that around to cook for a couple of minutes.
Take the pot off the heat and add milk, a dribble at a time, stirring constantly = a roux (big cooking word)
Make it sort of runny, it will thicken back on the heat.
Make dry toast. No butter/marg = has to soak up the sauce.
Add a couple of handfuls of chunk fish/4oz can of tuna and stir gently to thicken the sauce and heat the fish. If you can't imagine what a 4oz can of tuna looks like, get out a 4oz can of crab meat - kind of similar. Hell, any other white meat will do = cat, turkey, long pig, you get the idea.
When it is steamy/bubbly, dump a pile of it on the toast and enjoy. Supper tonight (tuna) was wonderful.
