OK. About 3 months or so ago, a headlamp burnt out on my wife's 2004 Dodge Neon. No problem. I went to the auto parts store and bought a twin pack of halogen bulbs, figuring that both bulbs ha the same number of hours on them, so if one went the other was soon to follow. This was the passenger side. I changed it out in about three minutes in the parking lot of the parts store. Sure enough, yesterday the driver's side went out. So I go out to change it and see that there is stuff in the way and you can't get to it. Now, after looking at it I decided that I could either remove the air cleaner assembly behind the headlamp assembly, or I could remove the headlamp assembly. So I decided to see what Master Chilton has to say about it. I grabbed the manual and it says to remove the headlamp assembly and points to two bolts. That's what I thought, so I go out to remove the two bolts. Yep, the whole headlamp assembly is now detached. But it ain't goin' anywhere. Back to the Chilton manual. Look up headlamp assembly removal. Got it. Step 1: Remove grill. REMOVE GRILL? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??!!!

OK, so it's not hard or complex, but all that to change a light bulb? Now I remember why I stopped working on my own cars.

Edit: I forgot to say that the mission was accomplished and the whole car reassembled.
