As I have matured as a banjo player, I have become partial to banjos that produce a dry, hollow tone with quick decay and strong bass on the 4th string. I am considering a standard Crowe RB-75 or Blackjack.
I have not played either. Do these banjos have adequate volume in a jam away from a mic? How about the tone? I am also considering a Yates (mahogany or maple?). Thanks in advance for any response.
