One of our favorite places for floating and fishing is the Bourbeuse River in Franklin and Gasconade counties here in the foothills of the Missouri Ozarks. The Bourbeuse is an oft-overlooked gem, still in a remarkably natural state despite being only a little over an hour's drive from St. Louis and having survived a couple of damming schemes by those trouble makers, the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers.
In a reversal of our usual roles, my wife picks the banjo here while I do a simple guitar backup. Linda Jo wrote this tune, inspired by the Bourbeuse and it's peaceful, natural setting. She is playing our Nechville Atlas open back banjo in a 3 finger style using special finger picks and a normal thumb pick. Linda Jo created the video as a musical snapshot honoring the Bourbeuse.
If you're in the area, come spend a day or two on the Bourbeuse with us.
