Looking at building a neck to match an RB-3 wreath pattern. Not sure where to start (stage 1 vs 4 vs CNC), but it seems that getting pre-done inlays is about $300 alone. If I were to do this myself, for this pattern, how many hours would it take to complete? I would at least be starting with the pre-cut blocks, not raw MOP.
I'm sure it depends on experience, which I have none for inlay, btw. However, I'll still take a number from someone more experienced, and just pad it for being a newbie...
I'm not too scared of doing the rest of the neck work. I do want to avoid the headstock cut-out, though. The tools I have to do this don't have a table big enough to keep that cut perpendicular to the heel... (or do you make this cut with it laying on the fingerboard surface?)
Thanks!
