Some people don't exchange gifts, that's OK. I asked my D1 and her guy if they still did and planned lots of hiking in the coast mountains. Answer was YES. It's rare for me to get an inspiration.
So, I took them over to "Out-of-Square-Construction" to pick out and get fitted for a diamond willow hiking stick. Al planned to make 100 hiking sticks and 60 canes from a batch of 2009 diamond willow. My kids got to cherry-pick the pile. Then it was length, then it was finish, then it was tips (3 possibles) then it was thumb grooves and wrist thongs.
Made by a guy who knows what to do.
Anybody else get an inspiration this year?
