It's from "Ballad of a Mountain Man: The Story of Bascom Lamar Lunsford" and used to air on PBS occasionally. Lunsford was a country lawyer born in Madison County, NC in 1882. He was better known as a collector and festival promoter. He founded the Asheville's Mountain Dance and Folk Festival in 1928 and recorded the largest amount of material for the Library of Congress... over 300 selections.
As well as writing "Good Ol' Mountain Dew", he is, as far as I know, the source for "I Wish I was a Mole in the Ground".
