I just picked up a nice Kay Banjo at my local swapmeet. It's in exc + condition , well made, heavy, & all original. Fortunately it has Kluson Deluxe tuners that allowed me to date it to 1964 -68,(Kay dissolved in 68). This is the model that was used by Roscoe Holcomb, & seen in his most famous pose in 1959. (Roscoe's banjo was the same, except his had a gumby headstock). The peghead on my Kay is blank, but has the squarish look of some seen on Silvertone bakelite banjos.
