I shot a rat trying to sneak into my barn.
I wrote a poem about it for creative writing class.
O Rat O Rat how swift you run,
along your path toward the sun.
You travel west as dusk draws near,
your pace leaves doubt of any fear.
You sense my stalk and turn to stair,
then turn your thoughts toward your lair.
Your hasten gate gives no reprieve,
the triggers pulled the cartridge leaves.
The mark is true no further run.
The darkness spreads, the deed is done.
