On the bottom: My my mom (Dorothy Wilson), my uncle (Jimmy Wilson), mom's cousin (my 2nd cousin Charles McGowen), mom's cousin (my 2nd cousin Marlene Miller).

On top: My aunt (Arvella Wilson), her cousin (my 2nd cousin Marilyn McGowen).

You can see the fuel oil drum next to the old house.  They had recently replaced the wood burning stove with an oil burning furnace.  Mom said that old house was cold and drafty.  She said you could see daylight through the cracks.  That teeter totter was built by mom's uncle Dugie Wilson who learned to weld in the Navy.  He served on the U.S.S. Minneapolis and was in Pearl Harbor when the Japanese attacked.

My uncle Jim passed away in 1990 at the age of 49.  He died from a massive heart attack.  He was retired from the U.S.A.F. and was a Bird Colonel and a Vietnam veteran.

Simpler times.
