Here's the scenario:
Johnny is at a festival and leaves his banjo outside the camper for 15 minutes to go and use the restroom. In the mean time, someone comes along and steals the banjo. Johnny comes back and finds it missing, and wonders is it his fault or the fault of the guy who took it? Johnny entrusted the group of jammers with trust. And was naive. But is that a fault of his? Is naivity someone's fault that outweighs the fault of the thief? Doesn't the fault still lie with the thief? Johnny could have been more responsible, but it's still not his fault it's gone. If anything, it's Johnny's fault for trusting too much. Or is it? Trust is a good virtue. Absent minded, yes. But the fault still lies with the party who stole the instrument, right?
I think society gets all twisted up blaming the wrong party for calling the whole scenario Johnny's fault. What do you think?
