Hi Folks,
I’m heading up to the Northwest once again from the San Francisco Bay Area to present my solo concert “The Banjo in America” and to teach a day of banjo workshops at Dusty Strings in Seattle on Saturday, January 28.
In “The Banjo in America,” I present music from the late 1700’s to the present day on nine different historical instruments, including an African ekonting, 19th century minstrel banjos, early 20th century classic-era instruments, a cello banjo, a prewar Gibson Mastertone Granada flathead and even an Allan Beardsell electric banjo. To learn more, visit my homepage at www.billevansbanjo.com.
This concert explores the roots of jazz, and old-time and bluegrass banjo while presenting a dizzying variety of modern three-finger banjo styles and generous helpings of original music.
All the best,
Bill Evans
