I am in the planning stage of assembling a parts banjo for myself. The plan was to get a solid rim/neck/tuners/tailpiece, and then use the current hooks, flange, tension hoop, etc. to fill out the rest.
The problem: These metal parts would be coming from a cheap masterclone. How much does the quality of the flange, tension hoop, hooks and nuts affect the tonality of the banjo?
