I've been getting work done on my banjo from a number of different guys here in the city. Some are way too expensive, others are too busy and you've got to wait a month and yet others are not reliable and will do crappy work. But alas! today I found a guy who does careful and good work and is so affordable it's hard to believe. The guy's name is JR. He's on the upper west side and has a small shop where he works mainly on guitars but as I found out today he's perfectly capable doing tricky banjo work.
