I play clawhammer (Wildwood Balladeer with Fiberskyn head) with Aquila Nylgut strings. Ive noted that after a hard/long playing session that the 'amplitude' of sound output (and tonal 'brilliance') for this set up seems to decrease. After I let the banjo 'sit' or rest for a period of one or two days, the amplitude and sound level seems to 'restore' back to its original brilliance.
To get the sound amplitude and tonal quality back to (close but not totally) original sound output during one sitting, I can re-tune the head, but obviously thats a PITA. .... can anyone explain what in the hell is going on and offer any remedies? thanks.
