This is the first tune I ever wrote, probably 25 years ago or so. I was basically noodling around with a D major scale and came up with this rhythmic thing that I never really did anything with.
About 4 or 5 years ago a friend of mine in Knoxville, Kent Bilbry, bought an 8-track digital recorder and I spent a day or two over there laying down about 20 raw tunes, just banjo and a tick track, so he could learn how to use his new machine.
On this cut, I overdubbed a 2nd banjo track. All this was done in one take each. Kent then later added bass to it and mixed down what I'm posting here. I thought I had posted it to BHO a few years ago but I guess not, so here it is now. ©Frank Eastes.
Enjoy
(NOTE: A few of these "basement" recordings are already posted to my BHO home page, but just this weekend I learned that Kent had gone on and re-worked several of those tunes years ago, and I was surprised and delighted to hear many of these tunes I had totally forgotten about. Over the next several days I'll post a few more select cuts from that session. It was fun.)
