7 pounds of WOW ... no tone ring required

The banjo dubbed "White Chocolate" by my Mrs is all but done. I need to buy a gold plated tension hoop and hooks and nuts, but this is what she looks like trimmed in gold. This is a thin pre-war rim with a simple wooden bead turned into the rim for a head bearing, and at only 7 pounds, this is a very nice banjo. Crisp, plenty loud and lightweight ... not that any of us are getting older and need a lighter banjo. I was going to install one of my Retrotone rings in it, since I have some gold plated ones, and since they will fit a thin rim owing to the fact that they have a pretty serious bevel on the underside of the tone ring where it seats on the rim... but I will let it's new owner make that decision. For those tired of the mundane, this banjo drips class from every pore, and you'll never see anybody else have another one like it. It's executed in walnut. The neck is poker straight grain for stability and tone, and the Gill vintage series resonator is figured walnut.

I don't know what it will fetch, but it's going to be going to ebay. I have about a weeks worth of heating oil left, so one of these banjos simply has to be sold for "whatever the market will bear" which will probably make me want to throw up ... but being cold ... is not cool, and I won't sell my 49 Gold sparkle bowtie to the highest bidder. I have it strung up too, but I have to tweak the neck axis a tad prior to offering it up. That's the headstock in my avatar.
