I mentioned a little while that when my kids first heard me playing banjo music, they thought it was less than cool. Not long after though, they started requesting specific tunes, especially from Steve Martin's albums. They love Yellowback Fly and Pretty Flowers and many more now. Anything that Dolly Parton sings with a banjo in the background is a fave too.
Then came Taylor Swift with her 6 string, that upped the coolness factor for them and they started talking to their mates about it.
This morning i was tidying under the youngest's bed and found this drawing...my youngest loves drawing and doesn't draw anything she doesn't either love or thinks is really cool....
This is the ultimate seal of approval in my books, and the fact that the banjo player is surrounded by fairies is an even bigger seal of approval in my daughters eyes lol.
I knew they'd warm to it.....just wait till they get home from school on Tuesday and find my new Gold Tone hanging on the wall....there will be lengthy negotiations over who uses it first!
