I have a 1910 A.C. Fairbanks/Vega Regent Banjo, serial # 26199, in extraordinary condition, that I am helping a friend to sell. I don't know much about banjos, and when I tried to research this one several things confused me. This Regent has an overall length of 30", but I noticed there are other Regents that are 36" overall. When I list this, is there something I should be saying about it, other than just the measurement? Are the shorter ones called something different? And what about the price? I have seen places where banjos similar to this have been listed for sale, but have been having a hard time finding completed sales with actual sale price. I've noticed on other listings that the tone ring is an important element. Did Regents like this always have the same kind of tone ring? This puppy is amazing, I really don't think it has been played much at all, it is hard to believe it is 102 years old. Can anybody help me out with some advice?
