This banjo is puzzling me. I'd love to see what you all think.
The fretboard has been replaced and the neck has been refinished. The peghead shape and inlay looks like a typical Slingerland, but the size seems too narrow. I have never seen or heard of a Slingerland with a spun pot, so I find it unlikely that the pot is Slingerland. The head is marked Slingerland and it has a Slingerland style neck yoke. The head could of course not be original. "The Vernon" was a Regal brandname and I have never seen "The Vernon" on a Slingerland made banjo.
It does not appear to be a Frankenbanjo from the photos. I'm reluctant to say that Slingerland never made a spun pot just because no one has yet to uncover one.
