In looking over the what does it take to play like Bela,Jens,Triska post I wondered what things would one do if you had lots of time to practice each day(5,6,7,8hrsetc...) or over a longer period of time with less hrs each day.

What specific things would be Important each Day to do?

in other words as well, what things do you think they do everyday and or what they did to get to where they are?

I would like to Brainstorm this with everyone and share Ideas.

I find it more difficult these days to know what to do having already learned how to play and keep it going to the next level all the time.

It was almost easier to know what to do when I first started.

Some things I think are Important to maintain and take further are.

1. full knowledge of all chords in every position, every key diatonic chords.Major,Minor,Dom 7ths and 7 diminished chord.

2.use of these chords with various rolls, boom chick for any song put in front of you in any key for back up banjo playing.

3. fiddle tunes(tabs and by ear) and the ability to find the melodies in any position any key.

4. exploring other Music other then Banjo tunes and working them out on your Banjo. ex.classical, rock, western swing etc.....

5. Scale practice. Diatonic Maj/Minor ,pentatonic Major / minor, maybe Modes ? all keys every position.

please help me come up with ideas.

lets brainstorm this.
