I'm making my first banjo. I ordered a Stew Mac 5 star head for it (along with their complete pot assembly). The head arrived with 4-5 "waves" of wrinkles near the 5 Star emblem on the head, slightly behind where the bridge will go. When installed and tensioned, the wrinkles begin to even out. However, even when fully tensioned, that part of the head is not completely flat. A few questions: (1) Would this be considered a defective head ? (2) Will this set of wrinkles affect the sound ? thanks for advice.
