The 15th Annual Pickin' In The Pasture Bluegrass Festival is coming up in just a couple of weeks! If you like real bluegrass music without bongos, electric guitars, snare drums, or 6 string banjoguitars, this is an event for you! The festival happens on a working sheep farm in the beautiful Finger Lakes Wine country of NY State. The stage show focuses on the diverse sounds of genuine bluegrass music. An effort has been made to bring together real bluegrass artists that have developed their own unique styles without needing a "big tent". The gate opens to those camping by noon on Wednesday 8/22. On Thursday, Smokey Greene, The Spinney Brothers, The James King Band, and Lorraine Jordan and Carolina Road take the stage. Friday is a hard core bluegrass day with Danny Paisley, David Davis, The Bluegrass Brothers, Carolina Road, The Feinberg Brothers, and The Jesse Alexander Band. On Saturday, featured bands are Junior Sisk and Ramblers Choice, Little Roy and Lizzy, Lost and Found, Marty Raybon and Full Circle, and Remington Ryde, along with The Feinberg Brothers, and The Jesse Alexander Band. The stage show concludes on Sunday with Goldwing Express, Remington Ryde, and The Pasture Kids bluegrass academy band. Pickin' In The Pasture has developed a reputation for lots of opportunity to jam for all levels of abilities. The picking is so good that many folks never leave the campground for the duration of the event. Other people attending enjoy using Pickin' In The Pasture as their home base to visit local wineries, the Amish countryside, State Parks, and the adjacent National Forest during the day and then take in the evening stage show.
