I would recommend getting rid of the "setup" rating in the banjo reviews. There are so many "setups" that aren't done by the manufacturer. For instance:
Setup
The banjo was not set up when I got it. I had to do that myself. Guitar Center just doesn't know what to do with a banjo other than sell it. The head was about to fall off.
Setup Rating 3
Literally this customer has given Deering a low "3" rating on work that Deering had NOTHING to do with. The bad rating should be GUITAR CENTER, not Deering!
This is akin to giving a college student some other students exam score!
Not only it is unfair to Deering or Gibson, or Huber, but it makes the rating system unfair and unreliable and hurts the credibility of the ratings system. The "review" should be based on the banjo manufacturer, not the kid who set it up in the music store 1,000 miles away who is unaffiliated with the manufacturer.
