Ozaukee County Fair

Got a call from the granbaby's house. Her Majesty and her parental units were going to the County Fair. Admission's free, the weather is fine, and would I like to meet them there?

Nahhh, I've got too much sh!t to do here.

So I nailed up some 2x2's  and 1x2's, and set shelving on them, and it occurred to me:

Whatever I do not do today, will be waiting for me tomorrow. But the Fair will be gone.

So I called the Mom's cell, and said I'd changed my mind and my sweaty shirt, and would call them on the cell when I got there, and we could meet at some landmark.

Got there, called, started looking for the Bumblebee Ride, where they were.

Some guy noticed the logo on my shirt, asked if I worked for that particular company.

I told him no, I just got the shirt at a rummage sale. He sounded disappointed, said his mom worked there, and wondered if I knew her.

I said no, but if she's single, I'll meet her. IF she's partial to banjo music.

He allowed as how she was now single, loves banjo music, and that it might be a great idea.

I said I thought it was a hell of a strange way to meet women, but, what the hey, this IS a carnival. And I gave him my banjo picker business card.

I shall certainly keep you posted, if she calls.

THEN, at last, I linked up with the granbaby and her support staff, horses and cows and bunnies and chickens.

NICE looking chickens, some of 'em.

Wish they'd had the breed names on the pens, so I could easily  tell you which ones were most impressive.

One looked like  black-and-wite illustration for a coloriing book on stained glass. Each feather shiny white, and perfectly outlined in a narrow black border.

And some kind of rooster who, in my opinion, should pose for the cover on a restaurant menu.

And a chicken, this one they labeled, called a "Silky". Looked like a fluff toy of some sort.
