Original Tunes and licks -- post-a-thon jump on in :)

Loving these post-a-thon thingys.

It occurred to me that there are probably tons of original tunes and original licks that folks here on BHO have come up with. So, why not post them here, to a thread where you can share your stuff?

I am not a prolific songwriter. In 34 years of picking banjo I've only written three instrumentals. I've come up with tons of original licks though...

To get this thread going I'm actually going to post someone else's original tune, who gave me permission to record and share the tune. (If this thread takes off I'll post some of my own original stuff here too. But my stuff tends to be a lot weirder.)  Feel free to jump in this thread and post your own original tune, or if you have a cool lick that you've come up with, post that too! I figure this thread will be of interest, or it will die on the vine. Who knows? Let's see if this goes anywhere. It might be fun.

This tune was composed by a banjo picker I know in Boone, North Carolina named Pete Washburn. I don't think Pete is a member of BHO. Anyway, he wrote this truly haunting tune called Echoes of The Blueridge. Here are two versions I recorded. One is an unfinished studio version, and the other was at band practice more than a year ago (that recording is a tad "hot").

I hope you enjoy. smiley
