Stathopoulo "Melody Banjo"

I have often admired the Stathopoulo "Melody Banjo" in the National Music Museum.  And been curious, too.

I think I've found it in The Music Trades magazine for March 13, 1915. (attached...sorry a print of microfilm).

Stathopoulo called it a "Bandolin".
