I got a phone call yesterday from the brother of a guy who used to live across the street from me in Missouri...
John Dew...
His mother and I were and are good friends... have been for years...
John works on cell towers for a company in Pacific, Missouri...
His mother used to tell me she was afraid for John's life, should he ever have an accident while on one of the 90 foot tall towers he has to climb...
Apparently, John was at the 80 foot mark on a 90 foot tower...
Bolts at one of the connecting joints below him failed and the tower, with John safety strapped to it, tumbled from 80 feet...
I don't know how anyone knew John had been in an accident... these guys frequently go out alone...
But he was found...
He's been in intensive care for 40 days... with internal injuries...
He's the kind of a guy that would step in front of a speeding train to help you, no questions asked...
Strong Irish-American background...
Has a wife and kid...
He's doing better, but has a long way to go...
His mom has been at the hospital night and day for 40 days...
She would step in front of a speeding train for you as well...
Please keep John and family in your prayers...
