Sleepless in Oregon

I was up about 2AM...Katy wanted out and bathroom for me. Waiting for that Yorkie...and not getting back to sleep already!

Very cool morning. Jacket type. The weatherman promised sun today. Good. So much rain encouraged the weeds to really go like crazy and take over, and plants that took off like rockets need trimming. Gee whiz. I trimmed that Scotch Broom. Took the 50 gal trash can completely. Lots of bush there. Now not nearly so. More trimming to do. Things are getting ahead of me. Guess I trim and put trims into buckets for next week? Probably.

I like Ice and Snow. No mowing. No weeds. No trimming. Works for me. Okay..tundra frozen is good. Summer I go to bed with daylight...stays light till very late. Seems strange. Soon days will be shorter, I realize. This morning I decided not to be too concerned about shorter daylight hours anyway. I just don't care.

What to do this morning? Okay. Do something I don't like to do. Paperwork. Let it pile up, I do. So, got the shredder out, and used it, and threw stuff in the trash, and filed a lot of that paperstuff. Unfun job at least. No, didn't finish, but made a huge dent in that pile of papers. Next nasty job. Transfer checks from carbon to the registure. I don't like that either...so, am 6 checkbooks behind. I do not balance checkbooks...have not in many years. And NO...I have not ever written a bounced check either. I sort of have an idea...anything left over if the account get extra goes into savings. Odd? Nah. It works for me. Fortunate...my banker keeps me informed, and transfers dollars or lets me know. Pays to have a great banker. It may not work for others, but for 15 years this is the way I do it. I detest all paperwork. Like the plague. I am rarely if ever caught up on paperwork.

I wish that I were more like my daughter. Perfection in paperwork, mowing, weeding, and her home is always in perfect beautiful order. No dust. Everything spotless. All the time. Completely organized, she is. I sigh. Don't think that I will ever ever make that grade to be anything like that. I admire her. She says I clutter. She's right. (sigh)

Jobs today: trim and weed...grass wants shorter, too. Nothing fun.

One thing. Post office. I generally go about 3 or 4 times a month, pay all bills, and drop them back right there in the mail. I ordered some cds. They should be there. Forgot what else I ordered. Trips there are like Christmas, and I get to share too. Folks ask what's in the package. I borrow sissors from the desk, and we look together. Social center, the post office. Compare bills. Visit. Find out who got puppies or a new horse.

Horse trailer, rvs, and cowboys are leaving today. Town has been a madplace to be. Maybe touists will go home (hope).

I notice that dust is getting thick on stuff. Need to dust. Living on a gravel road, I get dust. Open door or window...dust makes it's way to stuff. When it's nice, I leave the doors open. Even when it's raining, seems I get dust. Makes me wonder where all the dust comes from...as much as I get, it's a wonder there's any road left out there. I have a lot of it in here.

I need more coffee...just sitting here passing the time of day. With luck, a nap is in order.

Dinner. I want that fancy fish filets that wraps sticky rice and tiny cuts of spinach. He hates that. Gets a hamburger. Me? I love fish.

Onward. Grass, weeds, and dust await. How fun...(post office is only fun thing today)

 Nancy

Yeah. Changed title to thread cause I saw the movie...(but in Seattle...not Oregon...)
