I bought several packages of old, sealed 1970s vintage Vega strings with the chenilled ends. Even in the sealed packs the strings unfortunately have rusted a bit over the years. It was a long shot but I had hoped they'd be good for something besides case candy.
So, that leads me to my question: When did Vega cease putting the chenilles on their strings? Is there any way to determine by the packaging whether the chenilled strings are inside?
Funny question? Sure...but I do like those pipe cleaners. I have some of Julio Boysenberry's strings on my standard neck Vega and they are great. The Ome strings are also great. But still, I'd love to get my hands on some of those greenies.
