Howdy fellow pickers,
I'm so glad I finally got this back from the shop, I had to show it off a bit. I bought this 1890s era Buckbee with a warped neck beyond repair, so I asked a master cabinetmaker/ wood sculptor friend if he would be willing to try his hand at a new one. Here's the result: A beautiful quilted maple fretless neck inlaid with god knows how many different types of exotic wood and fancy maples, strung with nylgut, and 5 Star geared tuners. The skin on the head looks to be, if not the original, pretty darn old. The headstock was hand carved. This is imminently playable and, so far, a joy to pick.
I can't figure out how to link photos to this, but you can check out pics in my bio and whatnot...
