Hi all! I'm getting ready to gear up to build a couple more banjos (open back). In the past, I've used pre-made rims but have decided to take the plunge and try building some block type rims. I do not own or have access to a lathe and am wondering about the feasibility of putting together a motor and some kind of speed control along with a faceplate to turn these to the proper size. I've looked at the stuff on You Tube but it all seems to require more machinery than I can come up with. Any thoughts/suggestions? I figure somebody out there has run into this situation before. Any help is appreciated.
