About a month or so ago, I made and sent a bridge to a gentleman and unfornately when he received it, it had a broken leg. The break was as clean as one could be. I made him another one and sent it to him right away. He, in turn, sent the broken one back to me and I was able to glue the leg back on easily. I played the bridge on my banjo for a day and it sounds as good as any of the other piano wood bridges I've made. I certainly wouldn't try to re-sale it so I thought if anyone is interested in a free bridge I'd just take those names and draw one from a hat.
The bridge is a piano wood 656" with Crowe spacing and a compensated 3rd string with ebony top. It weighs in at 2.2 grams. It's not doing me any good just sitting in my bridge bin so I thought I'd offer it to Hangout members. I'll pay the postage as well.
If you're interested, just post a "I'm interested" on this thread and I'll stop adding names down at midnight tonight...if I can stay up that long.....Then I'll draw a name and post it tomorrow. This is outstanding bridge wood that hangout member Kurt Kemp sent me several months ago. It's the best I've ever played. Here are some pics of the bridge.....
Sorry for the fuzzy pics. The break line is visible but I can assure you it didn't effect the tone to my ears.
