Am looking for an entry level/beginner banjo. Have read in this forum and visited many seller websites.
I don't have a set price in mind. It appears that the top price range for (quality and highly recommended) beginner level models is $400 or thereabouts, with the bottom end around $200 or so. If I choose to go to the higher end of the price range I have two or three models in mind, any of which I think would be a good choice.
One that caught my eye were the banjos sold by "guitarworks" on ebay. Looked at the videos on youtube and what impresses me the most is the time he takes to set up the banjo before he ships it out. My search on this site suggests to me that this is a shop that is well thought of.
So -- I'll ask the obvious question: Does anyone own one of these guitarworks banjos? There are apparently three models at three progressively higher price levels. Would the basic (model 1) banjo be a good place to start? Or would the middle (#2) model be a better choice?
