Hello Folks:
I am asking for a little help from the banjo community. I am a Staff Sergeant with the Toronto Police Service (31 years now) and I have been informed by one of the officers on my shift that a little boy that is in his son's class has just recently lost his dad (50 years old) to a sudden illness.
This little guys family does not have much money and he has always wanted to play the banjo because his grandfather did.
This is going to be tough for him and as such I am giving this little boy a minty 1984 Gold Star banjo so that he can learn to play on. I will also include a tuner and some kiddie sized picks.
What I am asking from the hangout folks is to go through your old DVD's and learning material and let me know what basic ones you might have that could help the little guy out at the start.
I also need a kiddie size strap that would fit on the hooks of a banjo and not a guitar style strap.
If you have anything that can assist this little guy can you please send me a private message so that I can provide my home address in private to you so you can mail it to me. The officer on my shift will get it to the little guy.
