Jack Hatfield's Smoky Mountain Banjo Academy this year will offer a very special Nechville banjo for auction. A Nechville Classic Flex-Tone will be offered up to the highest bidder. This instrument has the Nechville neck connection for easy adjustment attached to a conventional pot via the Flux Capacitor. A curly maple radiused neck with Diamond Wing inlay offers easy playability and adjustment.
The neck and resonator are bound with and antique white band. The pot holds a Pro bronze tone find and three ply maple rim that is mounted in a prewar flathead style one piece flange conventional body. Double concentric purfling rings give the resonator a sharp, nicely appointed look. A Nechville inline tailpiece, Enterprise bridge and comfort beveled armrest give the banjo a sharp look and a clear, rich sound. Hard shell case is included. This banjo has a retail value of $2600.
Bids may be submitted to Jack Hatfield by contacting him directly at 865-428-8744. Bidding starts at $2000 as a donation to Smoky Mountain Banjo Academy. Proceeds will go to SMBA. Bids will be closed on Sunday, May 6, at 12:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time.
