Not a banjo picker, but important to those who cherish Americana music, Levon is entering into the final stages of his fight with cancer, it was announced today on his website and Facebook, as well as picked up by the press. You can find the available information with simple internet searches, I won't re-type it all here. Levon has been a fixture in the rock scene for many years, appeared in movies, and more recently focused on Americana Music with his legion of friends. He put on regular performances at his home for small groups, known worldwide as his 'Midnight Rambles".
He lives in the next town over from me, about 10 minutes drive, and I have been privileged to be a guest in his home along with many others. A wonderful member of our community, he was always looking to help out and do what he could to contribute to our region. A fine person indeed, and we all here in our area pray for him and his family, both those close, and those extended.
I just thought I would pass this along. I am so very sad now that I can't add much more. It's a small town.
