My Bishline Heirloom has had a rough winter. Got stored in a very dry place in a gig bag while I had to be out of the country for a while. Not intended, just goofy circumstances. A lot went haywire with it, but thank's to some consultations with banjophobic and getting hold of his setup workshop video I've now got it at least playable, but one thing is still driving me nuts.
The Gotoh 5th tuner simply won't stay tight anymore. I've never messed with it before. Now it has come loose I've been careful not to over tighten it so I don't think I crunched something. After like 2 key changes the button has a ridiculous amount of play both directions before it starts to change the note.
I don't know what's inside these gizmos. Could some rubber washer or something have dried out and not be holding anymore? It's going to be an interesting gig this Thursday night if I can't do something about it. Have to keep a small screwdriver in my pocket. Any idea what might have caused it and what I can do about it besides replacing it?
