After adjusting the head tension to get the best resonance out of my Fatdog, I've made it a part of every string replacement - especially if I change string gauge. It's pretty simple. Re-string then tune. Start with the first string and either tighten or loosen it to get the best tone. It should make a noticable difference in the "ring" of your banjo. If you tightened the string to get this tone, loosen the tension nuts for the head. We're only talking a ¼ turn at the most. Re-tune and see how close you are being in tune with the most resonance. The first time I tried this I had to make three adjustments to get it just right. Good luck.
