Hello folks,
I happened upon a vintage banjolele which dates back to at least 1920. The woman I bought it from told me she heard stories of her great aunts playing this at speak-easys during prohibition. It's a beautiful instrument -- I can post a photo when I'm home from work.
I have been searching searching searching for a friction tuner to replace the one that is missing (the attached photo, I hope the approximate dimensions are visible). I cannot find one anywhere, nor have I seen photographs that look similar. If anyone has any ideas about how to find one like this, or has one they would be willing to sell to me, I would be so very happy! I'm excited to get this up and playable! I really don't want to ruin this beauty by redrilling it and "upgrading" the tuners.
Thank you so much!
Gavin
