I bought a Dobro Lace pickup from Stewmac a few years ago for a spare pickup and experimenting with totally electric sounds.
This doesn't sound like a banjo, but it does blues and rock real strong.
Plugs into stompers andhas been fun from time to time.
I didn't want to use it often enough to mount it inside the pot,so I looked around for some way to suspend it over the strings.
When I saw this old "rabbit ears" controller that had a strip of aluminum bent in a circle,I unscrewed it from the base and noticed right away that the mounting "forks" at the ends would slip under the resonator screws.
I felt encouraged when I reshaped the aluminum "circle" and it was just the right length to suspend the taped on Lace 1/8"+ over the strings.
It's extemely loud with no preamp.
Ugly,ain't it!
