My modern banjos have very thin necks, just like all the other modern banjos I have played.
But I have an old Kay banjo that that I got in a trade about 25 years ago. It has a much thicker neck the my Saga and Recording King
Where thicker necks the norm many decades ago, and if so when did they get thinner?
The reason I am asking is because I would like to be able to date my old Kay banjo.
