Okay, it sounds like I'm a rich snob with a hot tub (most certainly not the rich part), but it came with the farm house. Its an older hot tub, and may not be worth fixing, but I've got an electrical problem. It survived the winter, which is the most important part, and we don't use it much in the summer, so I've got some lead time.
The GFCI circuit stays tripped where it comes out of the box and into the wiring of the tub. Now, I don't know beans about wiring, but it seems to me I've therefore got a short in the wiring to the tub. I don't even know where to begin to look. So for you electrical gurus, what is the likely hood of it being an expensive fix and/or is there anything a reasonably stupid person like me, but semi-handy could do before I pay some fellow $100 just to look at it?
