Fiddle playing lost forever?

I played the fiddle from age 9 to age 10 and I was doing good but the teacher got on me because I was playing by ear and not reading the music,

so I quit. I still have the fiddle but I'm over 70. Is there any of that still in me or would I have to start from scratch. I didn't know any thing about

bluegrass at 10. Wow! Just think how good I would be if I would have kept playing.
