i know this is one of those "you need to go and play it for yourself" questions, but give me some thoughts from those of you who have owned/played both.
Here is the scenerio:
I have opportunity to purchase-at nearly the same cost-the standard Reiter A-scale, or a nice setup Enoch Tradesman(walnut) with a 11" pot. The action and such on the Enoch is supposed to be under 1/8" at the 12th making it one without the typical high action Tradesmans can be found with.
I have a Reiter Special, all maple with a brass tone ring, so i'm looking for something different in sound-not looking to replicate what i have. The A-scale has a brass tone ring also, but it carries a mahogany neck and shorter scale-so some sound quality differences there. The Tradesman is simply wood tone ring and a thinner pot and walnut, so i would assume even more different sound qualities with it.
Concerning the necks-i've never held an Enoch, how do the two compare(Reiter/Enoch)?
So if presented with this opportunity, remember both are nearly the same in cost, which way would you go?
thanks
