Hello! I'm new here. In fact, I created an account specifically to ask this question. Though I do own a banjo, I'm actually primarily a guitarist. The thing is, I'm starting to play with finger-picks and I thought a banjo forum would probably be the best place to get advice on this topic.
Here's my situation: For as long as I can remember I've had the same white National thumb pick. I'm not even the original owner. My dad had this pick when I was young, so I imagine it was probably made in the 1980s. It's the best thumb pick I've ever used. It's slick, hard, and big enough to fit on my rather wide thumb. I've had problems with the thumb picks I find at guitar shops being too flimsy yet simultaneously pinching my thumb (even the Large ones). I found white Nationals on Musician's Friend, but I read online that they've changed a couple of times and are no longer of the same quality.
Are there any thumb picks currently available that are similar to these older Nationals?
Thanks,
CG
