Going to repair this 17 fret tenor, but first would like to identify the instrument's make and year. Also would be grateful for information as to whom the " Nelson's Hoot Owls" were as inked on the head. It has a hide head. An 11" dia. integral flat head cast aluminum pot, finished in matte black paint. An original looking 3 legged solid maple bridge. A Presto style tail piece missing it's cover. 20 aluminum bracket shoes. Chromed flat bracket hooks, 5/16' nuts and hoop. The neck, dowel stick and resonator seem to be made of dark stained walnut. The thick solid wood resonator affixes with a central screw that mates to a threaded nut embedded in the dowel stick.. The peg head cover and fret board are thin veneers. The friction tuners have striped ivoroid buttons. I have found no makers marks, numbers or letters inscribed upon the banjo or it's parts. The banjo is owned by Mandolin an up and coming young talent. Again we would sincerely appreciate any light shed upon this instrument. Dead Reckon
