This evening, my mother, (who is almost 93) was admitted to hospital. Both I, and my sister who is a senior Nurse Practitioner, believe that this is her last journey. That frail old lady the paramedics have taken away in the ambulance wasn't the strong, self-sufficient woman who raised me during the dark post-war days of rationing and made sure that I lacked for nothing that was in her power to provide. There are no words to express my gratitude for her love over the years.
I am not a man of faith, but my mother has always had a strong belief, so on her behalf I ask for your prayers to give her comfort in the hours to come.
Thank you.
