Remo Head (recap)

I finally solved my head issue... I never could get the 5 Star to work on my Banjo, and I ended up putting the Remo Wagon Wheel back on it. After a month it has finally settled down to just a tad above a G# and it really sounds good at that tension.

I was a little disappointed that I couldn't atleast check the 5 Star out but.... oh well,.. I traded it to my buddy down the road for a tune up on my S-10.... he's got a Granada that loves 5 Stars . I've still got the brand new Stew Mac head in the closet, and I pretty much wasted the HF Remo in the previous post.. and the AMB (sanding on them) ....but as good as it sounds now, I think I'm gonna try to find me another Wagon Wheel that's stamped USA to keep for a spare. I might be wrong but I read that Remo has changed their logo, don't know if they changed anything else or not I know that the heavy frosting hed was extremely grainy and the crimp on the band was different...... After this Remo WW has finally stretched out, it's a Hoss of a banjer now......

Thanks to everyone for their input on my original post, I really learned a lot about my instrument when I dove into the head changing syndrome thing. Now I know what I've got, and what it really sounds best with... to me anyway.
